The first thing that will happen in every session is that we will sit
down and talk.
We treat people, not bodies.
We want you to know who is
working with you, and we want to know who we are working with. We will
ask you questions about your current body issues and your goals.
We will take a history, and find
out as much as may be relevant about your life, including your work,
your family, your activities and your sources of stress and tension. We
will ask you about any medical conditions or recent injuries or
surgeries, and any medications you may be taking. We will tell you what
our thoughts are about your problem based on what you have told
us,
and give you as much of an indication as we can of what you might expect
to change in your body.
Although
there are very few contraindications for receiving this work,
if you have any special medical condition you are concerned
about, please check with your doctor.
At the end of each session we will provide
movement education, discuss issues of ergonomics, and make
recommendations about things you can change at home and work to
maintain your newly aligned body.
What to Wear
Women - underwear (bra & underpants)
Men - undershorts, running shorts, or swim
trunks
No spandex, please.
Number of Sessions
You can receive individual sessions or the
entire 10 session series. While the 10 session series is the most
effective, any work received is complete and lasting. Each session lasts
approximately 1 hour and focuses on a different area of the body. The
sessions are typically scheduled one week apart but you can receive the
work in as little as 5 weeks (2 sessions per week) or if time
and budget do not allow, complete the work over 10 months. Over the 10 sessions,
all regions of the body are addressed in a comprehensive and systematic
manner. You play an active role in the sessions.
